Association

Manufactured by an incarcerated individual for close-quarters combat within a correctional facility.

Description

Improvised prison weapon fabricated from a single length of cylindrical steel rod sharpened to a tapered point. The rod is slightly curved along its length, with one end bent into a small hook-shaped handle that provides a minimal gripping surface. The opposite end has been ground to a sharp point for use as a stabbing implement. The steel exhibits oxidation, corrosion, and surface wear consistent with prolonged use or exposure. The one-piece construction, absence of added handle materials, and sharpened tip are characteristic of an improvised close-quarters stabbing weapon.
