Origin

Wyoming Correctional Facility

Medium

Steel

Association

Manufactured by an incarcerated individual for close-quarters combat within a correctional facility.

Description

Improvised prison weapon constructed from a single length of round steel rod. One end has been ground to a tapered point, while the opposite end remains blunt. The rod has been bent near its midpoint, creating an angled profile that may improve grip or handling. The surface exhibits oxidation, corrosion, and wear consistent with prolonged use and improvised manufacture. Unlike many prison-made shanks, this example lacks a wrapped handle, relying solely on the bent steel rod as a grip.
