Association

Personally owned and worn by "Vagancia," a high-ranking sicario of the Mayiza action of the Sinaloa Cartel. The personalized embroidery reflects both his individual callsign and his operational associations with cartel figures active in Chiapas, Mexico.

Description

Original black snapback cap customized for a member of the Mayiza, one of the two principal rival factions within the Sinaloa Cartel. The front features a custom embroidered patch depicting a parrot wearing a cowboy hat, accompanied by the inscriptions "MAYIZA W-1," "WERO R-71," and "Sinaloa." While the significance of the parrot remains uncertain, the wearer himself did not know its meaning. It was most likely a personal symbol favored by the regional commander responsible for commissioning these caps, making it a distinctive emblem for his unit rather than an established cartel-wide symbol.

Like many personalized narco caps, the side and rear embroidery identifies the wearer's operational affiliations. The left side reads "GUERO R7," the right side "W1 MAYIZA," while the rear is embroidered with "C.D.S." for Cartel de Sinaloa. Customized snapback caps such as this are a signature element of dress among Mexican narcos and sicarios, with embroidered nicknames, faction identifiers, and references to commanders or operational units serving as highly personalized identifiers.

Notes

The designation "Wero" is a stylized spelling of "Güero" (Guero), a common Mexican nickname referring to someone with light hair, fair skin, or light-colored eyes. The "W" in "W-1" appears to reference the same individual identified elsewhere on the patch as "Wero R-71," effectively linking the two inscriptions to the same commander or leader.
