Description

Hand-drawn prison paño depicting a fantasy scene centered on a wizard-like figure with flowing hair positioned above a dragon coiled around a stone castle rising from the water. Additional dragons and winged creatures appear throughout the composition, while a jagged lightning-bolt motif divides the background. A small Viking-style longship carrying armed figures is illustrated in the lower left corner. Executed in ink with selective color accents, the artwork combines medieval fantasy, mythology, and tattoo-inspired imagery characteristic of prison paño art.

Provenance

This artwork was reportedly displayed as a wall-mounted “trophy” within an LAPD gang unit office. Residual adhesive marks visible at each corner are consistent with prolonged wall display and were confirmed by the gang unit officer from whom the piece was acquired.
