The ISIS Hunters (Охотники на ИГИЛ) were a Syrian paramilitary formation established during the Syrian Civil War to conduct operations against the Islamic State (ISIS). The group received training, equipment, and support from Russian military personnel and contractors, including Wagner Group elements. Their insignia became widely recognized through Russian and Syrian media coverage of anti-ISIS campaigns, particularly in central and eastern Syria between 2016 and 2018.
The patch displayed on the jacket incorporates the ISIS Hunters skull emblem and bilingual text, reflecting the close relationship between Russian-backed forces and Syrian anti-ISIS formations during the conflict. Such insignia were frequently worn by Russian contractors, advisors, and affiliated personnel as symbols of participation in, or association with, operations against ISIS.
